Friends,

I am so passionate about helping people and companies to be the best they were created to be. Without brand leading the way, legacies are lost, companies are torn apart, employees are not happy, products are not sold, people miss their dreams and competition and mediocrity wins.

One employee can threaten the value of a company or corporate brand – one wrong move can threaten the value of a personal brand. Brand consistency matters. Brand training is critical. Personal brand differentiation is not just a fluffy subject…it is all that matters. The most successful companies in the world offer consistency to their clients, partners and communities – as well as consistency in how departments communicate. Top leadership needs to communicate who they are, consistently, or employees fail, power struggles occur and people leave because accountability is not even.

In one of our next blogs we are doing a book review on a book called, Dare to Succeed by Joe Greene. He clearly states, “Suppose someone walked into your business today and asked your employees: “What is the mission of your company?” or “What does this company stand for?” How would your colleagues answer?” He continues to say, “If you are on board with your vision and mission, they can readily explain your company purpose. Anyone at any place in your organization should be able to tell in a sentence or two what your company is in business for. Every worker should be clear about your shared vision.”

HERE IS WHERE COMPANIES GO WRONG – People may be able to simply state a vision, but they have NO idea what it means for themselves on a daily basis. Ask: How does the vision inspire daily interaction? Gossip or integrity? How does the vision greet guests? Low or high energy? How does the vision tell each employee what story to share? Common themes? Goals? How does the vision tell Senior Management to act?

BRAND DRIVES VISION, MISSION, CULTURE…BRAND DRIVES EVERYTHING. Without brand, all is lost. If brand doesn’t lead the way – you will fail. Don’t believe me? Ask United Airlines.
